We hope you all had a safe and fun 4th of July. With summer in full swing, it can be an ideal time to head outdoors and work out in the sun. But between scorching temperatures, humidity and over-friendly bugs, it’s tempting to shun the sweaty session in favor of chilling out with an ice-cold drink. At Extreme Fitness, we believe that fitness is a way of life - which means working out throughout the year, whatever the weather. Here are reasons to forget slacking off and pack that gym bag:

As temperatures soar, spending extra time in an air-conditioned gym can be just what you need to beat the heat. The cool comfort of the gym can help extend your workout in the summer and is a welcome antidote to sweaty outdoor sessions.

In the program, we dive immediately into the structure of the human body – covering anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and applied kinesiology. You’ll use these fundamentals throughout the in-depth and rigorous studio sessions – first learning how the body works and then learning how to apply this knowledge through Pilates exercises.
While mastering Pilates techniques, our student teachers learn how to address imbalances and injuries that people face in everyday life. Should You Tan Before or After Your Workout?

If you love working out as much as you love tanning, you should also know the best time for each. So the question is should you tan before or after a workout?
Before Your Workout
Some find it more comfortable to tan themselves before a workout as it warms up their muscles and readies them for a good sweat.
One of the downsides, however, is that it can actually make you feel tired and less motivated to work out. Heat often has a relaxing effect, which may leave nothing in the tank.
You may also want to rinse off before a workout, as it can be uncomfortable sweating off the tanning lotions when using gym equipment.
After Your Workout
Tanning after a workout is preferable; the heat from the sun or tanning bed will help you relax and feel more at ease. It is similar to how a sauna helps you unwind after a good workout. Just make sure that you keep yourself hydrated and that you cool off enough before you catch those rays.
Some say that tanning after exercise gives a more even tan, because of increased blood circulation and open pores, which helps absorb more UV rays.
